‘WHAT IS FASHION?’ Project for Monmouthshire Museums and Vintage Vision
I recently completed documenting the ‘What is Fashion?’ project for Monmouthshire Museums and the social enterprise Vintage Vision. The project aim was to celebrate our diverse costume collections of Abergavenny and Chepstow museums within their communities. A textile historian and conservators undertook assessment and conservation of the costume collany of he items from the collection were then used as inspiration in intergenerational sewing workshops within the community. Temporary exhibitions featuring the pieces made in the workshops, along side items from the collections were then set up at Abergavenny Museum, Chepstow museum and the Vintage Vision shop in Chepstow.
